The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies to the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering expert services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency reported it can be alarmed with regard to the large range of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office devoted to service the area on a daily basis. The company issue made for intervention activities a substantial influx of probable sassa status beneficiaries, that makes it complicated with the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra assets to allow the servicing of all customers and maximize use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
